Since then I have made several enquiries to your embassy to locate any of my clients extended relatives this has also proved unsuccessful.

After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his last name over the Internet, to locate any member of his family hence I contacted you. I have contacted you to assist in repartrating the money and property left behind by my client before they get confisicated or declared unserviceable by the finance firm where this huge deposits were lodged. particularly, the (Inland Finance& Security Firm) where the deceased had an account valued at about Us10 million dollars has issued me a notice to provide the next of kin or have the account confisicated within the next 14 official working days.

Sequel to the above, i have been unsuccesfull in locating the the relatives for over 2 years now i seek your consent to present you as the next of kin of the deceased since you have the same last name so that the proceeds of this account valued at Us10Million dollars can be paid to you and then you and me can share the money. 45% to me and 45% then the bother %10 will be for any expenses that may come up.I have all necessary legal documents that can be used to back up any claim we may make. All I require is your honest cooperation to enable us see this dealt through.

ざっくり訳してみると、要するにこういうことです。

差出人は、ナイジェリアのシェル開発会社でずっと働いてた Hyacenth XXXX　さんという日本人（？）に委任された弁護士であると。2002年4月21に、その　Hyacenth XXXX　さんと妻、そして3人の子供が交通事故でみんな亡くなってしまったと。それで XXXX さんの親類縁者を誰か見つけるために日本大使館に問い合わせたりしたけどダメだったんで、インターネットで探すことにしたわけだ。

で、探してる理由がすごい。

なんと、この Hyacenth 氏は評価額 US 1000万ドルの財産を持っていて、親類がいなげればもうすぐ（14営業日後には）金融機関に差し押さえられてしまうらしい。

そこで僕が「親類縁者」だと名乗り出れば US 1000万ドル支払われ、しかも差出人である弁護士とシェアできると。しかも法には触れないようにやってくれるそうです。（苦笑）

で、肝心の取り分は 45%。弁護士が 45% で手数料 10% らしい。でも、1000万ドルの 45% なら 450万ドルか。ううむ。
